We welcome Ronald Boom Cook!
Since storming on to the spoken word scene last November, the dynamic thought provoking no holds barred artist Ronald Boom Cook has been all over the board. Featuring in venues such as World Cafe Live, Warmdaddy's the Head House Cafe, the Philadelphia Convention Center the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden New Jersey Celes Lounge in Harrisburg Pa and the Old Pine Center for the 21 days of love event. He's hosted events such as Stroken Word at Yolo's cafe The Black Honey Experience at the Delink Social Club and Hollywood Tuesdays at Treasures banquet hall. Boom as most like to call him has also featured in productions such as "Unheard" with some of Philly's strongest spoken word artists. His impact has also reached schools such as Girard College, St. Gabriel's, Huey elementary, Kelly elementary the Nativity school in Harrisburg Pa to higher educational institutes such as Temple University, University of Penn Community College of Philadelphia Harrisburg Area Community College and Central Penn University. Cook has been featured in newspapers and magazines such as Scoop USA twice The Patriot in Harrisburg pa and the house of Umoja Magazine. Cook has also been interviewed on radio stations such as wkdu (Drexel University's radio station) Philly Hott Radio (internet radio station) and Heat 100 (internet radio station). Ronald Boom Cook has also preformed along side with literary greats Sonia Sanchez Dr. Maurice Henderson and Lois Moses. Cook has written two books "Bones Thugs and Harmoney" and "From These Hands" (available on amazon) and has produced videos on YouTube for some of his pieces featuring Philly's own string trio (Stroke). Cook had an amazing first year and looks forward to making the next year when more amazing some of his upcoming events include features at the Rotunda on Philadelphia January 15 and at PM Bistro in Harrisburg January 29. And this is just the beginning.
