There are many interpretations/definitions for the word vision and summed up they all mean that we have the ability to see what will eventually come alive. We all have a vision or visions that we are given at some point in our lives. Understanding that vision and being able to see it come to pass requires us to really get our minds right and focus. I have been given a vision to follow. This vision did not just appear in my mind one day but has been showing up over time. There have been little seeds and sprinkles of information planted periodically over the months and perhaps years.
Now when I try to go back and think about when it began - I really can't remember. What I do remember is that when I began to pay attention to small things like something someone said or the writing on a wall, the picture began to come alive. Just last night while driving, the car in front of me had the word vision on the bumper. Confirmation to me that in this post I would talk about vision. After all, this week for me has been all about my vision. What does it look like, how will I pull that off, I have no clue how to do this or that. Then a call here or text there from someone offering to assist me in bringing my vision to life.
When we are given a task, an assignment, an opportunity to do something that we either don't know how to do or can't even imagine how it will get done, that's a true sign that we have been given this task not for us but to reach someone else. Therefore we have to move forward in fulfilling our assignment.
So in my quest to get my might right and do that which has been given to me, I am writing the vision and making it plain. Habbakkuk 2:3 reminds me that the vision is yet for an appointed time and in the end WILL speak. I'm excited for the vision, for the assignment, for the challenge and for the opportunity to touch lives. Stay tuned...
